n 1971 Don McLean released the song “American Pie” lamenting the day the music died referring to the tragic death of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and JP Richardson. But the reality is the music didn’t die and despite many other young artists tragically losing their lives too young , the legacy they left inspired the music to live on.
